the above measurements are based on the jacket being closed, and the full girth of the body (the measurement all the way around your body, not just one side) 3-5 inches in additional space is typical for a "well fitting jacket" in the chest and waist in order to accommodate layers underneath.
important fit note:
this jacket has been designed to fit “oversized” as a result of community requests. If you like a larger-fitting jacket, please select the size you would normally buy in any other brand, and it will fit slightly large, if you like a more form-fitting jacket, we’d recommend sizing down 1 or 2 sizes. If you are somebody with smaller shoulders/bust looking for a more form fit, we’d recommend sizing down twice. If you have a typical to larger frame or bust, we’d recommend a single size down for a more form fit. The jacket has been designed intentionally larger to allow for sweaters and other thicker base layers to be worn underneath and for a more casual fashionable look.

we're really sorry! We're in the process of adding more sizes, fits, and styles, and in the very near future, we will have a substantially larger offering of sizes for jackets (and all other garments). this is our first attempt at our custom jacket builder and in order to not overload the configurator, we're attempting a smaller collection to start!
